Most days it’s a Benchmade Volli, but for hacking around in the yard and garden it’s an old Spyderco Tenacious. Rainbow upta camp for your time.

For general knife things, it’s an Opinel No. 08.

For multitool things, it’s eithera SwissChamp or a Swisstool.

I will maintain to my dying day that Swisstools are superior to Leathermans in every way.

I agree, I have a ton of Swiss cutlery.

I’ve always admired the form of the opinel, but a clip is a non-negotiable point for me.

For the price (about $10 on Amazon), you should give it a try anyway. Especially the models with a carbon steel blade, which are ridiculously sharp. I picked it up just because it was cheap, but I fell in love with it instantly.

The Benchmade is the first knife I’ve ever owned with a blade steel that has the edge quality of high carbon and the hardness and corrosion resistance of a high grade stainless. I'm a Crucible steel convert. Their powder blade steels are fantastic.

I will. Cabellas sells benchmades- I wasn’t about to spend that kind of money on a tool without some hands on time first. I walked out with one.
